Iranian women have been required to wear at a minumum a hijab to avoid being fined, questions, or arrested by Iranian moral police. As a woman, to show your hair is a crime punishable by law.
But women want freedom–freedom to wear or not wear what they will. And since showing your hair in public in so badly punishable, they began their protest on Facebook, amassing thousands of other women.
