What American parents can learn from Soviet parents

American parenting styles have recently come under scrutiny from the media as helicopter parents and so-called “free-range” parents face off about which method is the most effective way to parent.

With the police being called on parents who let their children roam relatively freely by those who continually hover around their children, it’s almost fun thought experiment to see how helicopter parents would react in the USSR–where parenting is even more lax than it is here. At the end of the day, there’s something we can learn from old Soviet parenting styles.
