Ruin Porn: nature reclaims the first-ever NASCAR track

The South has a special connection to NASCAR (some might say the only connection to NASCAR). Having lived in Charlotte, NC for the past few years, I was always able to tell when race days were upon us by the energy reverberating around the area.

Today, the sport has moved on to larger and larger speedways capable of seating thousands more spectators. The older, smaller speedways are left to crumble away into nothingness. Professional photographer Seph Lawless recently visited the North Wilkesboro Speedway–NASCAR’s first ever and showed us a glimpse into the coming apocalypse.
