The way the internet is written is inherently racist

Unicode is the basic alphabet of the internet. It’s basically the set of letters and characters people use to write. Here’s the thing: when it was made, it was made by mainly white men who spoke European languages, so many Asian languages were left out. You can’t write your name in your native language, but at least you can tweet your frustration with an emoji face that’s the same shade of brown as yours!
